Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has received the management team of the Brass Fertilizer and Petrochemical Company Ltd at Government House, Yenagoa, and called for the state’s inclusion as a partner in the project.
During the courtesy visit, Diri expressed his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his role in ensuring the project’s progress.
He also voiced his discontent with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) for excluding states, which he believes undermines the provisions of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution.
In response, Chief Ben Okoye, the Managing Director of the Brass Fertilizer and Petrochemical Company Ltd, assured the governor that the project would commence between October and December of this year.

He noted that the purpose of the visit was to update the government on the progress made so far.
Governor Diri pledged the state’s full support to ensure the successful and timely execution of the project.
The meeting was also attended by the deputy governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, signaling the state government’s unified commitment to the project.
