Nigerian recording artiste and record executive, Michael Ajereh Collins who is better known as Don Jazzy has slammed Nigerians for not being receptive of female artistes.
The outburst is coming days after his signee, Ayra Starr released her sophomore album, The Year I Turned 21. She released the project on Friday, May 31 to a predominantly positive reception.

The Mavin Records boss said it is sad that Nigerians donāt consume much music from female artistes compared to their male counterparts despite their hard work.
A netizen with the X handle @Lahon199x had raised concerns over the issue, saying Nigerian female artists have more chances of becoming global A-list than in Nigeria.
The X user wrote: āNigerians in general are still not receptive to Female music
āYou will see female dominating or at least equal to the men in other countriesā music industry
āBut In Nigeria?..Our female artistes have more chances of being A-list globally than being A-list in Nigeria.ā
Reposting his tweet, the Mavins record executive wrote, āAnd itās so sad. The women put in soooo much work.ā
