The Department of State Services has arrested a medical doctor accused of transporting drugs from Sokoto to suspected kidnappers operating in parts of Kwara State.
The Kwara State Government disclosed the development in a statement posted on its official X account.
According to security sources, the suspected kidnappers were reportedly seeking medical supplies following gunshot injuries sustained during recent encounters with security operatives.

The doctor, whose identity has not yet been made public, was arrested in the Jebba area of Moro Local Government Area after intelligence reports allegedly linked him to the group’s activities.
DSS operatives have begun interrogating him to determine the level of his involvement and to obtain further information.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State Government has urged health facilities located near forested communities to strengthen their security measures, warning that such areas may face a higher risk of being targeted by criminals.
