Episode 8 – Educational Reform

In Fix Nigeria – Episode 8, we speak with Mr Akintayo Bamisaye on educational delivery and reforms in Nigeria. Firstly, we discuss the current system of education, particularly the key education stages from nursery to junior secondary education. We also delve into the dichotomy between private and public schools.

This episode also looks at tertiary education and the many challenges afflicting this sector. We deliberate on issues such as cultism and the unending ASUU strikes.

Next, we turn our attention to vocation education. This sector seems to have lost its impetus within the last decade. And so, we look at how Nigeria can implement a recovery plan.

Lastly, we look at the social face of educational issues; in particular, the challenges we face with the Almajiri system in Northern Nigeria.
