A man who has been parading himself as an Army General has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for an alleged fraud of N270 million.
The suspect, Bolarinwa Oluwasegun, who was arrested by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC, was said to have been impersonating the Nigerian Army with the lie that he had been nominated as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), and defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians in the process.
His arrest came following a complaint by a company he had defrauded, Kodef Clearing Resources, which led to the operatives swooping in on him.

The suspect, according to the anti-graft agency, had, for many years, posed as a General in the Nigerian Army, allegedly making false representations to the complainant, Kodef Clearing Resources, that āPresident Muhammadu Buhari, had shortlisted him and one other to be appointed as the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, and that he needed a short grant to press and process the appointment.ā
He was also said to have also allegedly forged a letter of appointment as COAS purportedly signed by the President and showed the same to the victim to further prove his claim.
