Eid-el-Fitr: Okpebholo calls for unity, tolerance

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has extended his heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim community in the state and across the world as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, the governor commended the Muslim faithful for their steadfastness, piety, and sacrifice throughout the Ramadan fast.

He acknowledged the spiritual discipline, acts of charity, and prayers observed during the sacred month, emphasising their significance in strengthening the moral fabric of society.

Governor Okpebholo urged Muslims to uphold the virtues of compassion, tolerance, and unity beyond Ramadan, stressing the importance of peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and progressive Edo State where religious harmony and mutual respect thrive.

“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Edo State, I heartily congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr,” the governor stated.

“Your dedication and devotion during Ramadan have been truly inspiring. As you celebrate this significant festival, may the spirit of peace, unity, and love continue to guide our state and nation.”

Governor Okpebholo wished all Muslims a joyful and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, urging them to use the occasion to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and national unity.
