President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for Lagos State on Friday ahead of Eid-el-Kabir.
His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale in a statement on Friday said Tinubu will observe Eid-el-Kabir in Lagos and spend the Sallah holidays.
“The President will mark the occasion in prayers and reflection on advancing the transformation of Nigeria in line with his Renewed Hope Agenda”, the statement added.
This year, Eid-el-Kabir will be observed on Sunday, June 16, as declared by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar.

In a statement released by Sambo Junaid, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council, it was confirmed that Friday is the first day of Dhul Hijjah.
Saudi Arabia also announced the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, marking the start of the 12th Islamic month. The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia confirmed that Friday marks the beginning of this holy month.
Additionally, the Hajj pilgrimage for 1445 AH-2024 will begin on Friday, June 14, with the day of Arafah occurring on Saturday, June 15.
Consequently, the major Muslim festival, Eid Al-Adha, will be celebrated on Sunday, June 16, 2024. The Day of Arafat, which precedes the festival, will be observed on June 15.
