The Ekiti State Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in office.
They endorsed both leaders for re-election ahead of the 2026 and 2027 general elections at a special caucus meeting yesterday in Iyin Ekiti.
The first civilian governor of the state, Niyi Adebayo, immediate past governor Kayode Fayemi, Oyebanji, and other top-ranking APC stakeholders were in attendance during the endorsement.
Senator Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South, moved the motion for President Tinubu’s endorsement.Adaramodu cited Tinubu’s “transformational reforms” and decisive economic and security strategies as key drivers of national recovery.
According to him, Tinubu’s policies have revitalized the economy and tackled insecurity, creating a stable foundation that deserves continuity.
Addressing speculations about emerging political realignments outside the APC, the senator dismissed such moves as mere political theatrics, noting that the APC remains unfazed.

Similarly, the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, moved the motion for Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
Aribasoye praised his administration for its developmental strides, grassroots impact, and inclusive governance.
“Governor Oyebanji’s leadership has brought remarkable improvements in infrastructure, security, healthcare, education, and economic development. I move that this distinguished caucus pass a vote of confidence in the Governor and endorse him to contest the 2026 gubernatorial election,” Aribasoye said.
However, the state party Chairman, Sola Elesin, credited Oyebanji for uniting the party and delivering tangible development across all communities in the state.
He highlighted efforts in rural electrification, youth empowerment, agriculture, and healthcare as key achievements of the current administration.More so, Fayemi commended Oyebanji, noting the growing national admiration for the “Ekiti magic” under his leadership.
“Everywhere we turn, it’s BAO. His humility and commitment to service are clear to all,” Fayemi stated.
Responding to the endorsement, Oyebanji appreciated the party leaders and restated his loyalty to Tinubu, whom he credited for providing the enabling environment for Ekiti’s progress.
Adebayo reinforced the caucus’s position, stating that both the President and the governor had earned their endorsements through performance and vision.
“Everyone is pleased with the Governor’s work, and we believe he should seek re-election. He has our full support,” Adebayo said.
