Former Kaduna State Governor and founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasir El-Rufai, has left the ruling party for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
El-Rufai cited a growing disconnect between his personal values and the APC’s current direction as the reason for his decision.

In a statement posted on his X handle on Monday, he expressed disappointment with the APC’s leadership, accusing the party of deviating from the progressive ideals that guided its formation.
