Nine-time Nigerian topflight champions Enyimba Football Club have unveiled Stanley Eguma as new club manager after sacking Yemi Olanrewaju.
Enyimba made the official announcement of Eguma few hours after the club made public the axing of Olanrewaju on Saturday.
Coach Olanrewaju had been overseeing a string of poor performances especially in the last two months.

āEnyimba FC can confirm that it has parted ways with head coach Yemi Olarenwaju,ā the club said in an official announcement.
āThe club thanks Coach Olarenwaju for his services and wishes him the best in his future endeavours.ā
Immediately Coach Olanrewaju was sacked, rumours had been flying around about Eguma’s appointment even before an official confirmation.
The People’s Elephant are without a win in nine matches across all competitions since beating Ikorodu City FC on October 27. They have lost two of their opening three CAF Confederation Cup games. The club are 11th in the NPFL table with 23 points after 15 matches – with three outstanding games to play.
Prior to being relieved of his duties as Rivers United coach in May, Eguma was the longest-serving manager in the NPFL. He had led the Port Harcourt-based side to the NPFL title in 2021.
