Rivers United rallied back into the game when captain Nyima Nwagua scored the equaliser in the 48th minute.

The game proved to be a title decider indeed as both sides searched relentlessly for the winner. The two teams eventually settled for the draw in the keenly contested game.

Both teams, alongside Remo Stars, finished on nine points each. However, Enyimba and the Ikenne-based side had more goal difference than Rivers United.

This means Enyimba and Remo Stars will represent the country in next season’s CAF Champions League. Meanwhile, Rivers United will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
