President Bola Tinubu has congratulated fathers on this year’s Father’s Day celebration, emphasising that society benefits greatly from fathers who meet the demands of responsibility.Ā

He highlighted the crucial role fathers play in guiding their children through life’s challenges, preparing them for the future, and instilling timeless values that transcend material wealth.Ā

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the President defined a father as someone who leads by personal example, embodying traits such as discipline, integrity, service, respect, love, and dedication to the nation.

President Tinubu’s congratulations extend to all paternal figures who, through their sacrifices, patience, provision, protection, presence, and guidance, have contributed significantly to shaping the nation’s destiny and leading the younger generation towards noble paths.

ā€œFather’s Day, with origins far deep into the Middle Ages, and official roots in West Virginia, the United States, where an event was held in 1908 to celebrate 362 men who died in an explosion at a coal mining company, is significant for its purpose as a day set apart to honour all fathers – living, deceased, and paternal figures.

ā€œThe President salutes all fathers, the sung and the unsung, who brave the toil of the day and the soreness of the night to provide for their families, describing them as true heroes.ā€

President Tinubu urged fathers to stay true to their bounden commitment to positively shaping the destinies of those to whom the future belongs.
