FCTA denies land allocation to Wike’s children

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has again denied claims that any plots of land have been allocated to the children of the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

This was made known on Tuesday by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister.

He stated that those behind the land allocation allegations are spreading false stories in an attempt to smear the Minister’s image.

According to him, the latest reports follow an earlier claim that over 2,000 hectares of land were given to one of Wike’s sons in Maitama and Asokoro—an allegation he described as baseless since such land mass does not even exist in those areas.

Olayinka explained that a document being circulated as evidence only shows land allocated for farming in Bwari Area Council to a company named JOAQ Farms, which has no connection to Wike’s family.

He added that a new round of accusations is now pointing to another firm, Jordan Farms, claiming it belongs to Wike’s son because one of his sons shares the same first name.

He clarified that Jordan Farms and Estates Limited is a registered company in Nigeria, and none of the Minister’s children is listed as a director or owner.

He said that having the name “Jordan” does not automatically connect the company to Wike’s family, just as people named Lere do not own Lere Local Government in Kaduna.

Olayinka also responded to reports about a security aide of the Minister whose name appeared on a land document, stating that helping someone collect documents does not mean the person owns the property.

He maintained that no land has been given to Wike’s children and accused political opponents of trying to discredit the Minister because of his stance on power rotation in the country.

He urged those pushing the narrative to come forward with verifiable records if they believe their claims are true.
