FG debunks viral message claiming schools will close from November 24

The Federal Ministry of Education has debunked a viral social media message claiming that all schools nationwide have been instructed to close from November 24th, 2025.

In a press statement issued November 22 2025, the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folashade, clarified that the message did not originate from the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Education, any State Ministry of Education, or any recognised security agency.

According to the Ministry, the widely circulated notice is false, misleading, and should be disregarded by the public.

The Ministry further advised members of the public to ignore any announcement or advisory emanating from unofficial and unverified sources, stressing the need to always confirm the authenticity of information before sharing it, in order to curb the spread of misinformation.
