The Federal Government has announced that Cesarean Sections will now be provided at no cost to women in need, marking a major step in addressing the country’s high maternal mortality rate.

Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Pate, confirmed this initiative on Thursday at the Nigeria Health Sector-Wide Joint Annual Review in Abuja.

Describing the move as a bold commitment to reducing maternal and newborn mortality, Mr. Pate emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare for all women.
