The Federal Government has announced that Cesarean Sections will now be provided at no cost to women in need, marking a major step in addressing the countryās high maternal mortality rate.
Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Pate, confirmed this initiative on Thursday at the Nigeria Health Sector-Wide Joint Annual Review in Abuja.
Describing the move as a bold commitment to reducing maternal and newborn mortality, Mr. Pate emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare for all women.

Mr. Pate reiterated that no woman should lose her life due to financial barriers to essential maternal healthcare.
