The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has announced the imminent launch of the Nigerian Youth Help Desk WhatsApp AI Chatbot, a new digital platform intended to serve as a real-time lifeline and resource hub for young Nigerians across the country.
The initiative, championed by the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, was developed in collaboration with the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Digital Innovation.
The project aims to digitally reach and support over one million youths annually, aligning with the Federal Government’s (FG) commitment to fostering hope, trust, and inclusion through technology and digital transformation.
The new AI Chatbot is designed to provide immediate support, guidance, and access to essential resources, targeting critical areas such as employment opportunities, mental health support, civic engagement, and entrepreneurship.

To officially introduce the platform, the Ministry will host a Stakeholders’ Engagement and Demonstration Forum.
The event’s agenda includes: a live demonstration of the WhatsApp AI Chatbot interface, a presentation detailing the Help Desk’s vision, mission, and operational framework, opportunities for stakeholder feedback and commitment pledges from partners and discussions focused on achieving nationwide adoption and integration of the service.
Olawande commented on the launch, describing the Nigerian Youth Help Desk as a “forward-thinking intervention.”
He emphasised that the platform is designed to guarantee that every young Nigerian has “real-time access to credible information, mentorship, and opportunities capable of transforming their future.”
The Ministry has extended an invitation to all relevant stakeholders, including development partners and youth organisations, to participate in the landmark initiative, which is viewed as a crucial step toward building a more digitally connected and empowered generation of Nigerian youth.
