The Federal Government has officially released the results of the 2025 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for admission into Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS1) in Federal Unity Colleges across the country.
The examination, conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO), also included a separate test for admission into the Federal Government Academy (FGA) in Suleja, Niger State.
Held on June 14, the examination saw a total of 64,578 candidates registered, with 61,290 sitting for the test while 3,288 were absent.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, announced the release of the results.
She was joined by the NECO Registrar, Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi, who formally presented the results to the minister.
Ahmad remarked: “Out of the maximum obtainable score of 210, 13 candidates obtained the highest score of 202, while 27 candidates obtained the lowest score of one.”
She also expressed concern over examination malpractice, revealing that a total of 52 candidates—two from Lagos and 50 from Rivers State—were found to have engaged in irregularities during the exam.
Commenting on the FGA Suleja entrance exam, the minister said 3,421 candidates registered, out of which 3,141 sat while 280 were absent.

According to her, the highest score recorded was 194, and the lowest was one.She reiterated that the criteria for admission into the schools would remain: 60 percent merit, 30 percent based on state equality, and 10 percent for exigency.
Prof. Ahmad directed the Senior Secondary Education Department to ensure timely completion of the admission process in accordance with existing guidelines.“It is common knowledge that our Federal Unity Colleges have become the first port of call for most parents in the country,” she said.
“I want to assure all Nigerian parents that the government will continue to do its best to improve infrastructural development, feeding, and teacher quality for effective teaching and learning in our colleges.”
