FG unveils theme for 65th Independence anniversary

The Federal Government, FG, has announced the official theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary: “Nigeria @65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”

The theme emphasises the importance of unity and cooperation from all sectors of society, including the public, private, and civil sectors, as well as every citizen.

According to a press release, the theme is a call to action, urging a collective effort to build a nation defined by peace, prosperity, and progress.

The government highlighted that despite facing various challenges since its independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria has made significant strides in several economic areas.

The anniversary celebrations are intended to reinforce these achievements and inspire a collective pursuit of a stronger nation for everyone.

All government programmes and activities leading up to the anniversary are expected to align with this theme to ensure its message is effectively communicated across all national endeavours, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

As part of the anniversary events, a special Juma’at Prayer will be held on Friday, September 26, at 1 p.m., followed by an Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, September 28, at 10 a.m.

A World Press Conference is also scheduled for Monday, September 29, at 10 a.m. to further detail the anniversary plans.
