FIBAN endorses Oyebanji for second term

The Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) has endorsed Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for a second term in office.

FIBAN on Tuesday cited his commendable performance in governance and inclusive leadership style.

The association members, who turned out in large numbers, held an endorsement walk to the governor’s office in Ado-Ekiti, where they publicly declared their unwavering support for the governor.

They praised him for his strides in delivering the dividends of democracy and for incorporating media professionals into the governance process.

Speaking on behalf of the association, the Ekiti State Chairman, Femi Aremu, stated that Oyebanji had performed creditably in under three years by fostering an enabling environment for professionals and making the state a land of promise for all.

He said such achievements deserved continuity, stressing that the governor had earned the trust of the people and merited a second term.

Aremu also highlighted the governor’s open-door policy and his impactful projects in education, healthcare, welfare, and infrastructure.

He further assured Oyebanji of FIBAN’s support not only for his re-election but also for any candidate he endorses in the 2030 gubernatorial election, to ensure continuity of good governance.

Responding on behalf of the governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro, thanked FIBAN for aligning with the administration’s vision.

She pledged that the Governor would remain committed to delivering democratic dividends across all sectors, regardless of political affiliations.

Adubiaro acknowledged the role of FIBAN in promoting peace and disseminating credible information through their broadcasts.

She affirmed that the government would strengthen its partnership with the association in the interest of the people.

She also reassured the residents of the state that Oyebanji would continue to prioritise their welfare, noting that the prompt payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities had remained a consistent feature of his administration.
