Students from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, took to the streets on Friday in protest against frequent robbery attacks they have been facing outside the campus.
Singing solidarity songs, the students blocked the busy Akure-Ilesa Road, causing a traffic jam.

The students said they are protesting in order to draw attention from the university management, government, and security agencies to address the ongoing security concerns.
Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state Police Public Relations Officer, assured that police personnel had been deployed to prevent the protest from being exploited by hoodlums.
