Genoveva Umeh and her role in “Blood sisters”

Genoveva Umeh is a Nigerian-born British actress who rose to fame for her role as “Timeyin” in the Netflix series “Blood sisters.” Here we’ll take a look at her role in “Blood sisters.”

Timeyin in “Blood sisters”

The Ademola family is quite the dysfunctional family. The viewer comes face to face with this at the dinner table a day before the wedding . Timeyin barges in and when her mother claims she has been away, schooling abroad, she denies it. Everybody knows she has been in rehab. In this scene, she is 22 days sober.

Her relationship with her brother, Kola, appears to be very strong, as can be seen on all encounters. While their mother, Uduak was comfortable cleaning up the family’s mess by presenting a picture-perfect image, Timeyin did quite the contrary. She vocalized her objections to her family. She also tried to bring down her brother, Femi, and his wife, believing they were behind Kola’s death.

When everything comes to light, it is clear what inspired Timeyin’s drug-filled youth. When she was a child, Timeyin witnessed Udauk running over her father with a car, killing him. The added pressure from Uduak to be the perfect daughter became too heavy a burden to bear. Uduak has tried to keep Timeyin on the sidelines her entire life.

In the end, Timeyin is the one to bring the entire Ademola dynasty crumbling down, by shooting her brother and his wife. She also holds her mother at gunpoint. It is quite contradictory that in the end it is only Timeyin who gets to choose who lives or dies.

Although in her early twenties, Genoveva Umeh shows great promise in her career as an actress. When asked on Twitter how she stays focused when acting, she replied, “Get out of your head is an acting tip I learnt early last year. It helps me be present and can be applied in life generally.”
