Nigerian forwards Victor Boniface and Gift Orban have been nominated for the Ebony Shoe award (Best Player of African Origin) in the Belgian Pro League.
Both players, who have put up fascinating and inspirational performances this season, are among five players nominated for the award.
22-year-old Boniface has 15 goal contributions for Union Saint Gilloise this league season. The striker has scored eight goals and supplied seven assists in 33 league appearances this term. In all competitions, the strong forward has 22 goals and 10 assists.

Meanwhile, Gift Orban has bagged 11 goals, providing two assists in 12 appearances for KAA Gent. He has found the back of the net five times in Europe as well.
Gift joined the Buffalos from the Norwegian second division club, Staebek in January of this year. Undoubtedly, the 20-year-old has been an instant hit.
His most stunning performance outside the league was his three minute, 24 seconds hattrick in a UEFA Europa Conference League match away at Turkish outfit Istanbul Basaksehir.
Gift’s most recent goal came two days ago in Gent’s 2-1 away win at Standard Liege. He won both the Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for his club.
Boniface and Gift will battle Genk trio, Bilal El Khannouss, Mike Tresor and Joseph Paintsil, for the prestigious Belgian award.

Victor Ikpeba, Godwin Okpara, Daniel Amokachi, Celestine Babayaro, and Paul Onuachu are Nigerian players who have won the award in the past.
