Doma United have secured promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and will feature in the 2026/27 season. This ends a one-year absence and brings top-flight football back to Gombe.
The Savannah Tigers clinched their return after a strong campaign in the Nigeria National League (NNL). As a result, they secured one of the promotion slots to the country’s elite division.
Doma United were relegated from the NPFL at the end of the 2023/24 season after two consecutive campaigns in the top tier. However, their immediate bounce-back restores Gombe State’s presence in the country’s premier football competition.

The club will play their home matches at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe. This venue has hosted NPFL fixtures in previous seasons and is expected to witness a renewed buzz of top-flight football.
Promotion means Doma United will line up alongside the likes of Enyimba, Rivers United, Remo Stars, and other NPFL heavyweights. This will happen when the new season kicks off later this year.
