Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed Engr. Shehu Umar as the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Kwara State Water Corporation.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye in a statement Sakd Engineer Umar was acting GM of the corporation until May 2023 and was reputed for his professional excellence, on-the-job experience, and personal discipline.
Until he is appointed a director in the state civil service, Engineer Umar has rich experiences in the public and private sectors, including as Project Manager, Engineering Manager, and Utility Services Manager at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc Agbara, Ogun State.

He also worked at the defunct Nigeria Paper Mill Limited in Jebba and Sterling Products Nigeria Plc Ilupeju Lagos, among others.
Engineer Umar holds a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Kwara State Polytechnic; Postgraduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University Akure; Masterās in Public Administration (International Business) from Lagos State University; and Masterās in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University Akure.
He is a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineers of Nigeria and a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), among others.
According to the statement, his appointment takes immediate effect.
