Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has submitted a list of twelve commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for confirmation.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Wednesday, June 12, 2025.
The names were contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, and delivered on Thursday.
Titled “Request for Confirmation of Commissioner Nominees,” the letter reads in part:
“In exercise of the power conferred on me by Section 192 (1&2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), I wish to forward to your esteemed office the following Commissioner nominees for your kind consideration and confirmation of the House of Assembly.”
The nominees are:
- Professor Igbekele Ajibefun
- Engr Aycrinde Abiola Olawoye
- Hon. Ayodele Akande
- Engr Alabi Johnson
- Alhaji Amidu Takuro
- Otunba Adewale Akinlosotu
- Mr. Idowu Ajanaku
- Dr. Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye
- Dr. Tob Loko
- Mr. Olaolu Akindolire
- Hon. Sunday Olajide
- Mr. Omoyofunmi Segun Henry
Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the lawmakers to treat the request with urgency in the interest of the state.
“I shall be most obliged to the Honourable House for your expeditious action on this request in the overall interest of our dear State,” the letter added.
