Gov Alia redeploys key aides, appoints Ayu as PS in chieftaincy bureau

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has approved sweeping personnel changes within the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The reshuffle, announced in a press statement released on Wednesday through the state’s official X page, saw several senior officials redeployed to new positions.

Denen Aondoakaa, previously Adviser in charge of the Bureau, has been reassigned to the Office of the Chief of Staff at Government House.

Ajinge Saar and Derby Amine will return to the Ministry of Justice, while Galu has been moved to the Accountant-General’s office.

Shagba Ahura and Rhoda Aboh have been redeployed to the Office of the Head of Service.A new leadership team has also been appointed to oversee the Bureau.

Terna Ayu has been named Permanent Secretary, with Terkura Dzwungwe appointed Director of Accounts and Finance, Sule Liambee as Director of Administration and Supply, and Uza Uza as Director of Local Government Services.

Esther Osugh will serve as Cashier.In a related development, Noel Wende has been transferred from the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) to the Office of the Head of Service.

Alia directed all new appointees to assume duties in their respective offices by 8 a.m. on Wednesday, 24 September 2025.
