Gov Obaseki inaugurates members of Civil Service Commission

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday swore in the newly appointed members of the state Civil Service Commission.

In a statement posted on his X page, Obaseki described the inauguration as a pivotal moment for the state, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of public service.

He emphasised that the event represents the culmination of strategic, far-reaching efforts by his administration to reform the state’s civil service, including changes in its structure, mindset, and operational infrastructure.

ā€œThe agency is supposed to nurture, hire, and train this critical asset of the government and should not be taken as another political structure.

ā€œI charge members of the Commission to be professional no matter the distraction. They have to advise the government and broaden their scope to deal with all public servantsā€, he said.
