Haaland, Kamada, Minteh lead nominees for September’s Premier League Player of the Month award

Haaland, Kamada, Minteh, Roefs, Xhaka, and Zubimendi nominated for Premier League Player of the Month after standout September performances.

The Premier League has unveiled six outstanding nominees for the September 2025 Player of the Month award, and fans will once again play a decisive role in choosing the winner.

Voting closes at 12:00 BST on Monday, 6 October, after which supporters’ choices will be combined with expert panel votes to reveal the recipient.

Erling Haaland headlines the shortlist after another prolific month in front of goal. The Manchester City striker netted five times, more than any other player, while also providing an assist.

His contributions included a double against rivals Manchester United, a ruthless counter-attack strike against Arsenal, and a brace in City’s emphatic win over Burnley. Altogether, Haaland directly contributed to six goals, twice as many as his closest challengers.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s Daichi Kamada has impressed under Oliver Glasner’s management. Initially used as a playmaker behind Jean-Philippe Mateta, the Japanese midfielder has flourished in a deeper role. His influence stretched across the pitch, creating five chances and winning 17 duels as Palace extended their unbeaten start with results against Sunderland, West Ham, and Liverpool.

Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh is also among the nominees after registering a goal involvement in each of his three September appearances.

The Gambian winger produced a dazzling assist in the loss to Bournemouth, scored against Tottenham, and then turned provider again with a sublime cross in Brighton’s 3-1 victory at Chelsea.

Sunderland’s impressive return to the Premier League has been recognised with two nominations. Goalkeeper Robin Roefs has been central to their success, keeping two clean sheets and making 13 vital saves, the second-most of any goalkeeper last month. Alongside him, captain Granit Xhaka demonstrated leadership and quality in midfield. He recorded two assists while winning 23 duels to balance creativity with steel.

Finally, Arsenal’s Martin Zubimendi rounds out the shortlist after scoring his first Premier League goals. The Spaniard struck a thunderous volley against Nottingham Forest and later completed a brace with a fine header. Only Haaland outscored him in September, which is a testament to his growing influence in midfield.

Each nominee has delivered performances that shaped results, and the final decision now rests with both the fans and the experts.
