On Monday, May 15, Hilda Baci made history as she surpassed the Guinness world record for the longest cooking hours by an individual.
The record was previously held by Lata Tondon, an Indian national, cooked for 87 hours 45 minutes in 2019. It is important to note that Guinness World Record as at that time of this publication are yet to officially verify Hilda’s result as they have to review her performance.
Meanwhile, enroute to her latest Cook-A-Thon contest, Hilda Baci whose birthname is Hilda Effiong Bassey lost 30kg in the space of two years to achieve her desired body goal for the project.

A throwback video of Hilda Baci showing off her remarkable weight loss transformation has surfaced on the internet.
This comes after her inspiring quest to surpass the current record held by Indian chef, Lata Tondon, who cooked non-stop for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.
Hilda, who has demonstrated an admirable level of strength and resilience since she started the 4-day cooking marathon on Friday, revealed that she used to weigh 110kg but has successfully reached a current weight of 81kg.
She also blamed her unhealthy eating habit for her excessive weight gain and said she has to be cautious to maintain her current weight.
āSome of you that just followed me donāt know this but used to be me at a point, I was weighing 110 kg and this is me today at 81 kg. It took me two years to get here; losing weight and getting my desired body wasnāt easy. It took a lot of steps, and now that I have lost weight I have to maintain it so I donāt go back to where I was coming from,ā she said.
