Nikola Jokic has sealed his name in NBA history by becoming only the third player to average a triple-double across a season.
With 26 points, 12 assists, and 26 rebounds in Denver’s 117-109 win over Memphis, he also grabbed his 34th triple-double of the campaign.

Moreover, Jokic’s 12 assists ensured his assist average now exceeds ten for the first time in his career. Consequently, he now holds triple-double averages in points, rebounds, and assists. If he scores 47 points in Denver’s final game, his points average will hit 30 – another personal milestone.

Only Russell Westbrook and Oscar Robertson have previously achieved this remarkable feat. Importantly, he now has 164 regular-season triple-doubles, which places him second all-time behind Westbrook’s 203. His impressive run comes as Denver battles to clinch home-court advantage in the playoffs.
“If he doesn’t win the MVP, it’s the greatest season of all time not to win the MVP,” said the Nuggets’ interim coach David Adelman. Despite being a three-time MVP already, Jokic remains a top contender this year, especially with competition from Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Lakers record big win against Rockets
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers had a night to remember with a commanding 140-109 win over the Houston Rockets. That victory secured them third place in the Western Conference and home-court advantage in the playoffs. Luka Doncic led the charge with 39 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

LeBron James also added 14 points and eight assists, although he sat out the final quarter due to a hip issue. That result pushed their record to 50 wins and 31 losses.
Warriors win boosts playoffs chances
On another note, the Golden State Warriors maintained their playoff hopes with a crucial 103-86 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Jimmy Butler III spearheaded the win with 24 points and seven assists. However, the Warriors must win their final game against the Clippers to boost their standing.

Although Denver and the Clippers are currently tied for fourth place, the Warriors trail by just one win. Oklahoma City, on the other hand, has already sealed the top spot in the Western Conference.
