How to setup call forwarding
The easiest means of initiating call forwarding on any Android telephone is through the Setting application. Because almost every manufacturer that produces Android phones installs its shell, you have to look for settings on your own. Typically in most phones call forwarding will be under calls then settings in the phone. Depending on the make and model of the phone, you may have to search under Applications or System Applications for Call Settings.
If you are unable to find the Call Settings menu, open Dialer, and on the top-right corner, you shall see three dots. Next, tap on the Settings and then tap on the Call Settings (or Calling Accounts). Another way how you can find ācall forwardingā is by typing it in the top search bar in the Settings app.
When you reach the Call Forwarding settings, tap it and choose the SIM or the phone number to forward.
Here, pertinent to your situation, you can choose either of the four that have been stated above. You can set it to Always Forward which brings an implication that your phone will forward every call that it receives. You can set it to forward the call only if you are unreachable, meaning your phone is turned off or is out of network coverage. On the other hand, you can have your phone forward calls to a different line they you do not answer the call. Finally, the only way that you can set call forwarding is when you are on another call through the āWhen Busyā selection.
Regardless of which forwarding criteria you decide is appropriate, press the selected choice and then enter the phone number to which you wish to forward the call. Then press OK, and, in case your carrier provides call forwarding service (and 90% of them do), another submenu will appear to briefly describe how the call is being forwarded and to which number.
How to Turn Off Call Forwarding on Android
To switch off the call forwarding service or to change the phone number to which the call is to be forwarded, one has to go to the same menu. In Summary, you can get there either through the dialer app or the Settings app.
Just get into the Call Forwarding settings and it shall inform you the number the calls are forwarded to. Tap it and either type the new phone number and hit the update button or click on turn off to stop call forwarding.
