Or the world-wide protests against police brutality, mobilised through movements such as Black Lives Matter and EndSARS. There has been a lot of cause for consternation.
You may have lost a loved one in the past year or you could be facing financial struggles. Or experiencing health worries or struggling to find employment. Whatever your challenge is, please remember that life is about the continued effort to overcome challenges.

The motive for overcoming life’s drawbacks can be easily lost, even for the most resilient person. It is difficult to face challenges, but one must never shy away from them. Simply put, where there are no challenges, there is no change.
A true measure of a person is not the amount of challenges they face but how they were able to overcome them. That being said, the following tips will hopefully give you the burst of energy to continue pushing against your daily struggles.
1. Change Your Mindset
Every challenging situation will affect your perspective. Never allow negativity take over. Try to focus your energy on the real challenge.
Prioritise the important things and don’t sweat the small stuff. If you let your energy go to waste on small matters, you will be void of energy before you even begin to figure out how to tackle your challenges.

2. You Are Not Alone
Its important to note that whatever you are going through, you are not the only one going through this issue. Someone out there is going through similar circumstances, and possibly even worse.
Likewise, there’s someone out there who has been through the same challenge but was able to overcome it.
You may even know someone who is going through a similar issue. It could be a celebrity, a relative, a friend or anyone at all.
Someone else’s experience can be a source of motivation to get you through your challenge. You may choose to follow the same footsteps or adapt an alternative to suit your circumstances. A real-life example is the best motivation to continue the fight and keep the faith.
3. Reach Out
“No man is an island”. Every human depends on others for survival. Therefore its imperative to seek support or help. As the saying goes, “a problem shared is a problem halved”. A third party will likely be able to offer a perspective you haven’t already considered.
Having someone to support you through your tough times is extremely beneficial. An ideal scenario would be if they have the expertise to help you get over the hurdle. Even if that is not the case, the emotional support is more than enough to keep you going in tough times.

4. Find a Solution
There’s a solution for every problem. No matter how big the issue is, you can overcome it.
If you’re considering ways of overcoming a challenge, you are already on the right track. You can only overcome a challenge if you have the desire and mindset to do so. So, its important to consider all the possible options for solving the problem.
The next step, is to work on a realistic solution. Once you have identified the most feasible path to follow, you need to take steps towards it.
With a focused goal, you wont lose your sense of direction amid all the hindrances.
5. Establish Clear Boundaries
Another coping strategy is to establish clear boundaries and adopt a process of compartmentalisation.
Its so easy for an issue in one aspect of your life to affect other areas. For example, an issue with your career could affect your relationships with family and friends, your health and well-being. This is due to allowing the problem to consume your time, thoughts and energy.
This behaviour is harmful, not just to you but those around you. Keep the challenges of your life restricted. If you allow them to take over your life, it will be difficult to overcome them. To solve one problem, you need to continue to live normally in other parts so that you dont lose your strength.
Learn to compartmentalise so that your brain is trained to keep good things away from the negative. With an organised mind, you will be able to conquer any challenge.
6. Gratitude
There are a lot of things to be grateful for, like friends, family, good health, career etc. And the simple things in life, like the wonders of nature, being able to have food to sustain yourself and having a chat with a dear friend.
When going through life’s challenges, remember this and start noticing the things to be grateful for. It will completely change your perspective. You’ll soon realize that things are not as bad as first perceived, and that life is worth appreciating.
7. Help Others
Despite life’s challenges, be ready to offer help to others. You will be contributing to the cycle of help, while also learning a great deal from their way of tackling issues.
Moreover, offering a helping hand ensures you have got someone you can rely on during tough times too!
Above all, remember to keep well and stay safe during these challenging times.
