Reality TV star Josephine Ijioma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has dismissed claims that she is yet to receive her ₦100 million prize for winning the 2022 edition of Big Brother Naija.
News Round The Clock recalls that in 2023, Phyna publicly called out the show’s organisers, alleging that some of her prizes had not been released. After exchanges between her team and the organisers, the issue faded from public discussion, leading many to believe it had been settled.
Recently, however, a video resurfaced online in which Phyna was alleged to have said she had not received her prize money.
Responding during a livestream on Twitch, Phyna said the clip was deliberately edited to misrepresent her words. She explained that she was actually addressing critics who mocked her for becoming a streamer despite winning ₦100 million, pointing out that those people never supported her during her earlier struggle to receive her prizes.

“They keep cutting my video, I never said I have not received my 100 million naira. I was only talking to people who asked me if the 100 million naira has finished,” she said.
Phyna added that the edited video nearly sparked legal action between her and the show’s organisers, who were unhappy with the claim attributed to her.
She said she clarified the situation by directing them to the full Twitch video and warned bloggers against cutting her videos to twist her statements, stressing that she would take legal action if such edits caused her any legal trouble.
