Record transfer Pisa S.C player, Durosinmi, scores in his debut

Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi scored a dramatic debut goal for Pisa S.C., securing a 1-1 draw against Atalanta just days after becoming the club’s record signing.

The 23-year-old forward headed home an 87th-minute equalider on Friday. He had entered the match as a second-half substitute and his immediate impact earned him recognition as a key offensive weapon.

Pisa finalised Durosinmi’s permanent transfer from Czech club Viktoria Plzeň on January 14. The deal is worth a reported €9 million plus add-ons. This fee makes him the most expensive acquisition in the Tuscan club’s history.

Durosinmi expressed gratitude to his former club and its fans. He recorded 35 goals and 10 assists in 86 appearances for the Czech side. His tenure there included experience in UEFA Champions League qualifying.

Pisa currently sits near the bottom of the Serie A table. The club possesses one of the league’s weakest attacks. Durosinmi’s signing directly addresses this urgent need for offensive power.

Durosinmi has signed a long-term contract with Pisa, binding him to the club until June 2030. His successful debut marks a promising start to this new chapter.
