Tobi Amusan has launched the new year with massive authority as she ends the 2025 season, and begins 2026, among the top three hurdlers in the world.
The Nigerian speed queen secured the top ranking in the women’s 110m hurdles, and therefore makes a strong case for her unmatched class on the international stage.
She gathered 1,430 ranking points to sit just behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji and America’s Grace Stark. Amusan’s brilliant silver medal performance at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships undoubtedly strengthened her global reputation.

Meanwhile, Nigeria celebrated further success as Ezekiel Nathaniel and Chukwuebuka Enekwechi also finished inside the world’s top 100 athletes.
