Her reply to Alozie’s tweet read: “All my love and respect to you. I am sorry for what happened. Also, for our England fans and my teammates, playing with and for you is my greatest honour and I promise to learn from my experience.”

Earlier, Alozie defended the England star despite racist chat surrounding James’ action towards her at the Round-16 of the Women’s World Cup which saw the Lioness advance to the quarterfinal after a 4:2 win in the penalty shoot-out.

Recall that James was sent off after stamping on Alozie by an Argentinian referee, Melissa Borjas.

The referee had initially given James a yellow before she was advised to consult the VAR on-pitch monitor and then returned to give her a red card.

As of press time, James’ comments section on social media is still deactivated.

NRTC further gathered that James’s action against Nigeria’s Alozie may lead to her suspension from the ongoing Women’s World Cup in Australia, according to FIFA’s rules if the body goes by it.
