India 2022: Olowookere Invites Dah-Zossu, Ayantosho, 33 Others to Flamingos Camp


Head Coach of Nigeria’s U17 Women’s national team, Bankole Olowookere has invited 35 players to camp. The team is making preparations ahead of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup holding in India later in October.

This was communicated to the general public via a statement released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) communications department.         

Included in the list are team captain Alvine Dah-Zossu, first choice goalkeeper Faith Omilana, and defender Miracle Usani. Some other defenders who made the provisional squad are Blessing Sunday, Comfort Folorunsho and Tumininu Adeshina.

Also, midfielders Blessing Emmanuel and Taiwo Afolabi, alongside forwards Opeyemi Ajakaye and Aminat Bello all made the squad.

The players are to report at the Serob Legacy Hotel, Wuse, Abuja on Tuesday 30th August 2022. The U17 Women’s national team players are to report to camp with their training kits, medical certificate of fitness and international passport.

The U17 girls, also known as Flamingos overpowered the DR Congo, Egypt and Ethiopia to qualify for the World Cup. The team won five of their six matches in the qualification series.

This year’s tournament will be the 7th edition of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup and will be held from 11th – 30th October 2022.
