INEC Disenfranchise Over 200 Voters —BBNaija Nelson

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday disenfranchised over 200 voters at Polling Unit 021, Osapa London, Lagos State, Big Brother Naija star, Nelson Prince has revealed.

Prince via his Twitter handle on Sunday alleged that INEC failed to come back as promised after they claimed that they had an order to stop the voting process on Saturday because of security.

He claimed that INEC promised to come back today by 8 am but they did not show up only to get a call from the voting officer that they have been instructed not to come back for the continuation of the voting.

In his lamentation, he said there was no rancour, no quarrel and the polling unit was peaceful.

He said, “I am here at my polling unit Osapa London 1 PU 021. As at yesterday, we were voting we had over 600 and something voters queued up to vote. We were stopped because the voting officers yesterday said that they (INEC officials)vhad an order to stop because of security reasons and the voting here was peaceful. There was no rancour, there was no quarrel, there was nothing.

“They stopped us and said let us count and let them upload and they said the order is that they will be back tomorrow between the hours of 8 to 12 to continue and finish the voting.

“We stopped about number 400 and something, we counted yesterday and they uploaded offline because according to them, they could not login and upload.

“Today, we have been here since 8 am and we just got a call from the INEC voting officer here saying that they have been instructed not to come back here to continue the voting because of the fact that they transmitted the votes so the order to come back to any polling unit does not include us anymore. So as you have seen here, over 200 people have been disenfranchised because of this.”
