Instagram stories will now allow comments

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

New features that have been added are the comments section in Instagram stories, while the reply option in Stories is used to direct message a user. The new feature that this update offers gives more of a public display of usersā€™ friendsā€™ posts. But the original poster will not receive these comments as DMs; It will also reveal that ā€œcomments will only be visible on your Storyā€ a Meta representative shared.

Sharing features allow Users to enable or disable comments respectively for every particular Story. If activated, comments will be public to all persons who follow the account but only those who also follow each other can comment. As with the Instagram stories themselves, comments will self-destruct after 24 hours. A small avatar of the commenters will be displayed at the bottom of the ā€˜Story ā€™ icon and a notification that there are comments to the post before going to the particular post.

If the option is enabled on the accountā€™s settings, users can reply to Stories through Direct Messages. There is also a feature where one can reply to a Story comment with a DM by swiping on the comment and tapping on the ā€˜DMā€™ button.

Instagram has been improving the Stories feature; lately, people can create posts with unique templates, and AI generates backgrounds for them; besides, more stickers turn into progressive ones.
