The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-háq Oloyede, has clarified the reason behind the non-mobilization of Higher National Diploma (HND) candidates admitted through part-time programs.
He explained that JAMB is legally prohibited from capturing or registering such candidates, which consequently prevents their data from being forwarded to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for mobilization.
Prof. Oloyede made this statement during a recent visit to the Ibadan Zonal Office, Prof. Oloyede where he also addressed the broader issue of illegal and irregular admissions that have become rampant in many tertiary institutions across the country.
He expressed deep concern over how these unauthorized admissions disrupt the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and compromise the integrity of the entire educational system.

The Registrar lamented the growing trend of candidates seeking to legitimize admissions that were obtained through questionable means, sometimes years after being accepted into institutions.
This, he noted, often leads to complications such as requests for corrections in personal data, including names and dates of birth, further straining JAMB’s records.
Prof. Oloyede emphasized that JAMB is committed to upholding a transparent and equitable admission process.
He called on the media to objectively report on these irregularities, highlighting the Board’s efforts to sanitize the admission process and ensure compliance with legal standards.
The Registrar further affirmed that JAMB would not alter its records to accommodate any candidate attempting to falsify information.
He urged all educational institutions to adhere strictly to the legal admission processes, reiterating the Board’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the nation’s admission system.
