JAMB announces 2026 UTME, DE registration dates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the registration dates for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) applications.

These dates are for prospective candidates across Nigeria.

According to a statement released through Prof Ishaq Oloyede, Jamb’s Registrar, registration for the 2026 UTME will commence on Monday, 26 January.

It will end on Friday, 28 February 2026, at accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.

JAMB disclosed that candidates are required to obtain their electronic Personal Identification Number (e-PIN) before proceeding to register. The e-PIN serves as a compulsory requirement for completing the registration process.

The board also announced that Direct Entry registration will begin in March 2026 and run through April 2026. The board noted that DE candidates are expected to register at JAMB State and Zonal Offices for proper verification of credentials.

JAMB reiterated that all candidates must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN), stressing that registration will not be successful without proper NIN verification.

Furthermore, the board warned candidates to ensure that their personal details are accurate to avoid complications during admission processing.

On registration fees, JAMB explained that the cost varies depending on whether a candidate opts for the optional mock examination.

With the total cost, including the mock Exam being #8,700, and without the mock exam being #7,200. In addition, the board cautioned CBT centres against overcharging candidates and warned that centres found guilty of extortion or malpractice would face sanctions.

The examination body advised candidates to complete their registration early and avoid unaccredited centres or third-party agents. It warned that such practices could lead to disqualification.

JAMB added that further details on examination dates and other related activities would be communicated through its official channels.
