The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has appealed to candidates to remain calm as the portal for printing the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination original result slips is yet to be opened.
The board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, made this known in a statement released on Tuesday.
JAMB explained that the delay followed the completion of foreign examinations and ongoing arrangements for the mop-up examination meant for candidates who missed the main exercise through no fault of theirs.
“The printing of the 2026 UTME Original Result Slip has not yet been activated. Candidates are kindly urged to be patient as the Board has just concluded the foreign examinations and is also preparing to conduct the mop-up examination for candidates who were unable to sit for the main examination through no fault of theirs,” the statement read.
The examination body further noted that the UTME serves as a ranking examination, adding that the original result slips contain candidates’ rankings, which makes it important for every stage of the process to be completed before the slips are released.
“Candidates are reminded that the UTME is a ranking examination, and the Original Result Slip contains the ranking of candidates. Consequently, all necessary processes must be completed before the slips can be released,” Benjamin stated.

JAMB, however, assured candidates that access to the printing portal would be restored once all pending adjustments had been finalised.
“As soon as the necessary adjustments are concluded, the printing portal will be activated. This will be done shortly, and candidates will be duly informed when to proceed with the printing of their result slips,” the statement added.
The board also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the delay and appealed to candidates and other stakeholders for understanding.

Meanwhile, several candidates have expressed frustration online, saying they urgently need their results for post-UTME screening preparations, admission processing, and applications for change of course or institution.
JAMB had earlier provided an SMS-based platform that allows candidates to check their results using their registered phone numbers.
The development comes shortly after the board fixed 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for university admissions for the 2026 academic session.
