President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Engr. Abubakar Momoh as Minister of Niger Delta Development.
The Special Adviser to the President, Ajuri Ngelale announced this in a statement on Sunday night.
Momoh was redeployed from the Federal Ministry of Youth to Niger Delta Development which was missing from the list of ministries that was released last week.

News Round The Clock (NRTC) gathered that the missing of the ministry from the ministerial list had triggered mixed reactions among some groups from the region.
According to Ngelale, the Federal Ministry of Youth will be assigned to a Minister-designate soon.
Aside from the inclusion of the Niger Delta, the president also changed portfolios of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, Interior, and Marine and Blue Economy.

Adegboyega Oyetola who was initially announced as Transportation Minister, was redeployed to the Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy while Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo was redeployed to the Ministry of Interior.
Hon. Sa’idu Alkali was redeployed to the Ministry of Transportation.
According to the statement, both Ministers of State in the Oil and Gas sector are now domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources with the following designations: Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri is the Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources, and Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo as the Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources.

President Tinubu also approved the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management as the Federal Ministry of Environment.
“All aforementioned changes take immediate effect by these directives of the President,” the statement added.
