The game was held behind closed doors, but Wright was allowed to attend the clash between Arsenal and Chelsea in his role as a pundit for the BBC.
The Arsenal legend couldn’t contain his joy when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled the Gunners level in the first half, after being pulled down by Cesar Azpilicueta in the box.
Arsenal’s talisman, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang worked his Wembley magic once again. As Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea and win the FA Cup for a record 14th time.
Another Arsenal legend who couldn’t contain his joy on social media is Nigeria’s Kanu Nwankwo. The victory coincided with his birthday and he thanked the Arsenal team for his birthday present on Instagram.
The FA cup victory guarantees Arsenal’s place in next season’s Europa League and also ensures that they finish the season, ‘that appeared to have fallen apart on all fronts’ in a good way.
Victory also means that the Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, becomes the first ever person to win the FA cup as a captain and manager.
