The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the reception for the Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, scheduled for Wednesday, 19 November 2025.

The decision, announced in a press statement by National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, was made in solidarity with victims of recent security crises across Nigeria.

Morka cited the tragic loss of lives among members of the armed forces and civilians at the hands of terror groups, as well as the recent abduction of schoolchildren in Kebbi State.

Kefas, who transitioned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was due to be welcomed into the APC.

A new date for the reception will be announced in due course, Morka said.

“The postponement is a mark of honour for members of the armed forces and citizens recently killed by forces of terror, and a gesture of respect for victims of related incidents, particularly the innocent students abducted in Kebbi State,” he said.

Morka paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of security personnel and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of all victims.

Morka also prayed for the safe return of the abducted students.

He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to national security: “The President Bola Tinubu-led government remains resolute in its determination to eradicate insurgency and banditry within our borders and bring these despicable perpetrators to justice.”
