Kemi Badenoch: Following remarks about Nigeria, netizens have a conversation about ‘police’ in the most populous black nation

A couple of days ago, an interview session featuring Nigerian-born British politician, Kemi Badenoch aired on social media.

In the interview session, Kemi Badenoch who is the leader of the United Kingdom (UK), Conservative Party made a statement that has been alleged to defame and deride the image of Nigeria.

According to Badenoch, her upbringing in Nigeria was predominantly overshadowed by fear, insecurity and police brutality in a country that is plagued by bribery and corruption.

Following her remark during the session, netizens especially Nigerians have taken to the social media platform, X to disclose how the Nigerian police have either physically assaulted them or extorted them.

Here is what she said, “The police in Nigeria would rob us. The police stole my brother’s shoes and his watch. It’s a very poor country, so people do all sorts of things.”
