Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who joined Mercedes for the 2025 F1 season to replace Lewis Hamilton, has already broken some records.

Youngest Ever to Get Pole Position

At the Miami Grand Prix, the young Italian made history. He was the youngest driver to get pole position for the sprint race at 18 years, 8 months, and 7 days old. He beat the old record set by Sebastian Vettel. It was also the first pole for an Italian driver since 2009.

Youngest to Lead a Lap and Set Fastest Lap

At the Japanese Grand Prix, more records fell. Antonelli became the youngest to lead a lap. He also set the fastest lap of the race, of which Max Verstappen held both these records before. Antonelli said, “It was a nice feeling… We had good pace.”

Consistent Strong Finishes

Antonelli also started his F1 career very well. In Australia, he was the third-youngest to start a race. He finished his first race in fourth place. This made him the second-youngest to score points. He also finished in the top six for his first three races. He said, “Melbourne was a good boost of confidence.” Antonelli’s first F1 season has been amazing. Antonelli has shown he is a very talented driver. His early success is a great start to his F1 career.
