The Kwara State Government has procured a total of 30 new transformers as part of its efforts to improve electricity supply, stimulate economic growth, and enhance social amenities across the state.
The Commissioner for Energy, Kola AbdulGaniy, announced the acquisition on Monday at the Ministry’s premises while receiving the second consignment of the transformers.
According to the commissioner, the initiative is crucial for supporting the economic development and general well-being of the state’s residents.

He emphasised that reliable electricity is a key factor in improving security and driving economic activity in local communities, and he assured the public that the current administration remains dedicated to prioritising the welfare of all citizens.
AbdulGaniy confirmed that the transformers were delivered in two separate batches.
The first batch, consisting of 16 units, was received on August 15, 2025. The remaining 14 transformers arrived earlier on Monday.
He noted that this procurement is a testament to the commitment of the state’s governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to the welfare and security of the people.
