In a renewed effort to bolster security across Kwara State, the state government has donated 150 off-road motorcycles to the Nigerian Army.
The motorcycles are intended to enhance troops’ mobility and operational effectiveness, particularly in rugged terrains such as forests, where non-state actors are believed to be operating in a bid to destabilise the state’s peace.
This intervention follows recent reports of security disturbances in parts of Kwara South and Kwara North.
In response, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led a high-powered joint security delegation on an operational assessment tour to Kaiama Local Government Area in Kwara North.

Within 24 hours of the tour, the governor held a strategic meeting with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, at Ahmadu Bello House, Ilorin.
During the meeting, the Army Chief assured the governor of the military’s readiness to collaborate with other security agencies to restore peace to the affected areas.
AbdulRazaq has consistently supported security agencies across the state.
Only a few months ago, his administration donated vehicles and motorcycles to the 22 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army.
In a complementary move, local government authorities across Kwara have also acquired 320 motorcycles for the strategic deployment of vigilante operatives, further strengthening community-level security operations.
