The Kwara State Hospitals Management Board (KWHMB) has announced the creation of a new Patient Medical Assistance Trust Fund aimed at providing financial relief to patients who cannot afford essential medical treatment.
The fund is designed to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent residents from receiving necessary care at state-run hospitals.
According to a statement from Dr Abdulraheem Malik, Executive Secretary of the KWHMB, the initiative will help cover the costs of critical treatments, surgeries, and medications for indigent patients.

Malik highlighted that the fund is a direct response to the need for equitable access to healthcare across the state.
The KWHMB’s goal is to close the gap between medical needs and a patient’s ability to pay, demonstrating the board’s commitment to compassion and improved health outcomes for all residents of Kwara State.
